Her debut feature as producer, The Rocket (writer/director Kim Mordaunt) won over 45 awards, including three at the Berlin International Film Festival (Best Debut FeatureCrystal Bear and the Amnesty International Film Prize), three at Tribeca (Best Narrative FeatureBest Actor and the Audience Award) and the audience awards at over a dozen film festivals including Sydney, Melbourne and the World Cinema Audience Award at AFI Fest LA.

It also won Best Film at the Film Critics Circle of Australia AwardsBest Original Screenplay Australian Writers’ Guild Awards and Best Director at the Australian Directors’ Guild Awards. It has 97% “Fresh” positive critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Rocket has received distribution in over 40 countries including theatrical release in the US, Canada, UK and Australia.

Sylvia has produced a number of other films with writer/director Kim Mordaunt, including the highly acclaimed feature documentary Bomb Harvest for ABC TV and Discovery HD, sold to TV in over 30 countries, the SBS TV documentary Speed City and the Young Filmmakers Fund short drama Mongrel’s Ghost.

A graduate of the film production degree at UTS, Sylvia began her career working on documentaries and fiction for BBC and Channel 4 in the UK, and then worked in roles such as production manager and researcher on features, TV dramas and documentaries with some of Australia’s most renowned filmmakers.

She is currently developing on a number of drama feature films as producer to be directed by Kim Mordaunt, with Screen Australia, Screen NSW and international partners, including the adventure thriller The Politics of Heroin, based on the on the groundbreaking book by Alfred W McCoy, the drama/action/love story Pink Mist, and the Vietnam War drama One Crowded Hour, based on the best-selling book by Tim Bowden about legendary Australian combat cameraman Neil Davis, writers Kim Mordaunt, Andy Cox and John Collee (Master and Commander).
